Aslin Beer Company Announces Opening of Newest Location in Washington, DC

14th Street Location Features New Coffee Concept, Beer Garden and Bun’d Up Food Truck

Alexandria, VA | June 29, 2022 – Aslin Beer Company, the Northern Virginia brewer known across the region for its eclectic rotation of hazy IPAs, fruit-forward sours, unorthodox designs, and constant innovation announced today the opening of their newest location on 14th Street in Washington, DC. The new Aslin beer garden serves 21 Aslin draft beers including fan favorites and new releases, as well as two rotating taps of guest beers from breweries around the country. Additionally, the site houses a one-barrel brewing system to do R&D batches exclusive to the DC brewery and tasting room.

The 14th Street location also features Aslin Coffee, the brainchild of Aslin and Danielle “Dani” Moreno, a culinary industry vet and Level 3 Sommelier with a passion for conscious consumption. Dani, who roasts all Aslin Coffee beans to order in Virginia, has been working with Aslin to “normalize thoughtful coffee drinking” for all levels of coffee drinkers who prioritize their environmental impact and supporting proper labor practices in the coffee industry. Aslin Coffee serves traditional espresso beverages, house-made flavorings, pour overs, and teas with nods to Dani’s Filipino and Mexican heritage, and is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:30pm and weekends from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

We’ve partnered with great people doing amazing things in food, beverages, and design and are looking forward to bringing that together on 14th Street.”

Aslin DC’s 211-seat, indoor/outdoor beer garden is replacing a former fueling station at the corner of 14th St. and S St. NW in Logan Circle. The design by architecture firm //3877 pulls in influences from 1950s gas stations and auto shops, but with a focus on being playful and welcoming – priorities for Aslin overall.

Aslin co-owners and brothers-in-law, Andrew Kelley and Kai Leszkowicz, founded the company in 2015. Aslin first operated out of a small warehouse in Herndon, VA, before opening the brewery and taproom in Alexandria in 2019, followed by an upgraded outpost in Herndon the next year. IZZI, the company’s restaurant opening alongside the Herndon taproom and also featuring Aslin Coffee, will follow right behind the DC launch this month, and Aslin Pittsburgh will be launching later this summer in The Strip District.
