Aslin Beer Company, the craft brewer known across the Mid-Atlantic region for its eclectic rotation of hazy IPAs, fruit-forward sours, unorthodox designs, and constant innovation announced today the opening of their first location in Pittsburgh. The brewery is the newest addition to the revitalized Terminal building in the Strip District neighborhood.

The new Aslin taproom features a 12,000 square-foot production facility with a 7,000 square-foot taproom, cafe, second floor mezzanine, and outdoor patio. The taproom will serve 24 Aslin draft beers including fan favorites and new releases.. The production facility includes a 10-barrel brewhouse, lagering tanks, and foeders, giving the brewers space to experiment and innovate with R&D batches exclusive to the Pittsburgh taproom.

The Terminal location also features Aslin Coffee, hand-roasted to order in Virginia. The Aslin coffee bar at the Terminal will feature traditional espresso beverages, house-made flavorings, pour overs, and teas, and will be serving daily from opening until 3:30pm.

Aslin’s all-day dining options will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner highlighting locally-sourced ingredients and unique Pittsburgh dishes. The breakfast menu features breakfast burritos, hash bowls, and tostadas. Lunch includes sharable taco platters, fri-chos, and salads, in addition to burritos and tostadas.

“We’ve been looking forward to the Pittsburgh opening for a long time,” said Kai Leszkowicz, co-owner of Aslin Beer Company. “It was a concept in our early days when we first started seeing fans drive down from Allegheny County for our new releases. When we started looking at locations outside the Northern Virginia and DC area, Pittsburgh was a no-brainer. It’s great finally being a part of this community that has been so welcoming to us throughout the years.”

“We also have some amazing partners in the community, including Scratch & Co, who helped immensely with the food concept for the Pittsburgh taproom. We’ve collaborated with some Pittsburgh breweries in the past and can’t wait to get more projects going with some of the country’s best brewers” said co-owner Andrew Kelley.

Aslin PGH’s 211-seat taproom was designed by architecture firm 3877 with prints and signage from long-time Aslin partner, CSI. The concept pulls in influences from its Pittsburgh surroundings, showcasing a love for the Steel City and craft beer’s great history here – one of the many reasons for the company’s extension into the city.

Aslin co-owners and brothers-in-law, Kelley and Leszkowicz, founded the company in 2015, first operating out of a small warehouse in Herndon, VA, before opening the brewery and taproom in Alexandria in 2019, followed by the upgraded outpost on Elden Street in Herndon the next year. Earlier in 2022, the company opened a beer garden in Logan Circle in Washington, DC, and IZZI, a restaurant and bakery concept, in Herndon, VA. Aslin Virginia Beach will be coming next in late 2023.

Visit Aslin Pittsburgh starting tomorrow, December 2, for coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Aslin will be open from Noon-11pm on the 2nd. Follow @aslin.pgh on Instagram for daily updates during the soft launch. Extended hours coming soon.
